PASTOR SHERRY NASON
Associate Pastor
Pastor Sherry was dramatically saved at the altar in an upper room of the Rockville Church of the Nazarene on September 20, 1987, after hearing a sermon called, “The Need for Forgiveness.” In 1990, while at a women’s retreat, she had an undeniable call into a counseling and deliverance ministry. At that time, the Lord set a fire within her to see people be set free, delivered, and healed. The verse that has always stood out is Luke 4:18, which states, “He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”
Her next step was to pursue education, and she began studying for the ministry with Nazarene Bible College’s extension program. She was ordained in 1997 and received a Bachelor of Christian Counseling through Family Bible College in 1998. Afterward, she went on to obtain a Master of Clinical Pastoral Counseling in 2000 through Family Bible Seminary.
Today she writes, “God has been so, so good to me! He has blessed me with 53 years of marriage to my high school sweetheart, four children, eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Sometimes, the process of being set free from pain, addiction, heartache, divorce, grief from losing a loved one, etc., can be hard work and even painful. But oh what freedom there is in a healed life surrendered to Jesus. It is a brand-new start.”
