You Lead by Your Example: Like Paul led Titus on Crete to contnue to build the church he started there, Jesus has led His people here in the world to lead others to Him. Too ofen Christans think that leading others to Christ is the job of the church leaders, but that is not true. Every person leads someone else, whether it be your kids, friends, co-workers, or just those you encounter as you go through your day. This is partcularly true of Christans, because once someone knows you follow Jesus they will be watching you to see if you live up to their idea of what a Christan should be. So ask yourself what kind of leader you are. Are you like the non-Christans around you “liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons” or “arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain” and by so doing tarnish your witness for Christ by your actions? Maybe you are like the religious leaders of Jesus day, full of religious talk, deceiving yourself and others into thinking that you gain your way to heaven by following religious rules and rituals or somehow being good enough. Don’t you remember that your salvation is by God’s gracious gift alone? Or maybe someone that follows you see Christ in the way you walk?
